This weekend, I took the boys on a little cherry blossom hunt through Stockholm. We got up early, packed our bags and headed into the city \u2014 just the three of us. The weather wasn\u2019t exactly on our side\u2026 grey skies, a bit chilly. But it was actually great for us! Fewer crowds and the cherry blossoms where magical anyway!

Here are three of our favorite spots in Stockholm to experience it:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\ud83c\udf38 Kungstr\u00e4dg\u00e5rden<\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n

\ud83d\udccd Kungstr\u00e4dg\u00e5rden, Stockholm<\/p>\n

This is probably Stockholm\u2019s most iconic cherry blossom spot – and for a reason. A long avenue of pink cherry trees creates a tunnel-like feeling when in full bloom, and it\u2019s just as beautiful as it sounds. Even on a cloudy day, the colors really stand out.<\/p>\n

\ud83c\udf38 Did you know? The cherry trees in Kungstr\u00e4dg\u00e5rden were a gift from Japan, symbolizing friendship between the two countries – which makes the experience feel even more special when you walk beneath them.<\/p>\n

\ud83d\udca1 Good to know:
Can get very crowded, especially midday, so it’s best visited early morning for a calmer experience. Perfect to combine with a city stroll and an early breakfast at a nearby caf\u00e9.<\/p>\n

\ud83c\udf38 Ugglegr\u00e4nd<\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n

A much quieter and more hidden little spot – and one of my personal favorites. Here, there is a single cherry tree that frame a small, charming street with a softer, more local feel. It\u2019s not as grand as Kungstr\u00e4dg\u00e5rden, but that\u2019s exactly what makes it special. Perfect for a beautiful photoshot!<\/p>\n

Extra tip: From here it’s actually not far to the Ivar Lo’s playground with fantastic views over Stockholm so make sure to make a stop with the kids.<\/p>\n

Fewer people and more intimate and calm with older buildings and cobblestone street. Perfect for slow moments (and photos \ud83e\udd0d)<\/p>\n

A small square that really comes to life during cherry blossom season. Surrounded by beautiful buildings and a cozy neighborhood vibe, this spot feels like a little hidden gem in the bustling city.<\/p>\n

A more \u201clocal\u201d atmosphere with restaurants and caf\u00e9s and great for a relaxed stop during a walk Lovely for families with kids.<\/p>\n

Our experience<\/h3>\n

For us, this wasn\u2019t about chasing the \u201cperfect\u201d spring day. It was about being together, walking through the city, stopping when something caught our eye, and just letting the day unfold. We usually love spending our days like this – just a simple goal\/place or two for the day and the rest of the day holds space for spontaneity which gives us a more calm and slow experience.<\/p>\n

The boys ran ahead, stopped under the trees, looked up, tried to touch the cherry blossoms to smell them and those are the moments I\u2019ll remember.<\/p>\n

If you\u2019re in Stockholm during cherry blossom season – don\u2019t miss it. Go early, take your time, and maybe don\u2019t worry too much about the weather. It\u2019s beautiful anyway \ud83c\udf38<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
